"....Nokia continues to indicate that the timing for 3G will begin with network investments in late 2001 with many operators preparing for commercial launches in the second half of 2002 while the impact to Nokia will become apparent in Networks in 2002 and in Mobile Phones beginning in the second half of 2002. Nokia's WCDMA pilot deliveries are scheduled for June 2001 with commercial volume deliveries to begin in October 2001. Although Nokia, as well as other vendors, may be able to ship and deploy WCDMA networks in the 2002 time frame we continue to believe the launch (and therefore revenue recognition) of the these networks will be delayed to the 2004 timeframe due to a lack of multimode handsets...."
