Perhaps it's the fact that pricewatch lists a single cpu price and the article is based on 1000-unit quantities. Not to mention one is a breaking news story and pricewatch is a consensus/scan of prices at retail from the past few days/weeks. Give it a chance to work though the system. Intel said the P4 at 1.7GHz is now available and has a price tag of $352, in 1,000-unit quantities.
