Yes, technically some of your examples are stealing. But the difference is you are not taking your friend's B52 album home and copying it with 50 cassette recorders going 24/7.

Taping a show or movie on a blank VHS to give to a friend is not stealing.. You have already paid for it.. Every blank tape has a small tax added to it and that money goes to TV shows, Feature films and a number of other places that off hand I can't remember. But I know it's there. I read about it in the 80's when these fears were brought up..

Your 2 cents is always welcome here. I wouldn't have axed the question if I didn't want it. Plus if I get enough people to give 2 cents I can make up most of my losses these past couple months...<ggg>
