Ali, I didn't find AMD's presence in local shops decreasing at all or any decrease in the ComputorEdge ads for AMD. Every single local shop the advertises a page in ComputorEdge now advertises AMD systems. But the newspaper flyers have definitely dropped off advertising AMD. I haven't visited Best Buy (traditionally more AMD then Intel), CompUSA (the opposite) or Costco (varies) to see the status.

I think Intel stuffed the OEM's with CPUs at the end of Q1 to meet their targets Even so, their inventories rose 18% even while sales were dropping 23%, while AMD's rose 3% with flat sales.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about a drop in ads unless the stores stop carrying Athlon and Duron machines. It might represent the end of quarter CPU push or it could be a big jump in the "Intel Inside" campaign.
