First, it should be apparent from what I said that I consider spirit to have self- awareness and self- determination. Second, I said why I constrasted spirit with matter on that score already. Third, the spiritual "I" has location, but no physical extension. Rather, it is bound in a relationship with my body, in a manner that is difficult to imagine, and upon which I am not, for current purposes, speculating.

Your second paragraph is a non sequitur.

It is quite imaginable that any number of animals are automata. I already mentioned that there is a class of borderline animals that seem to exhibit personality (not behavior), but I do not speculate about them. Since there are certain beings which most clearly are similar to me, I confine myself to them.

I have myself entertained the notion of pan- psychism, but that is beyond my current discussion.

I figured you would not try to rebut, but would somehow still declare yourself the winner. I am not really interested in the assignment, thanks........
