I thinks folks will always buy variety.

But folks used to buy purely on MHZ.

Now i think folks will focus more on ergonomics, brand of machine etc than pure speed.

Taking cars into account.

Every car sold is adequate to travel at speedlimit.

So some folks want style.
Some buy on brand name.
Some buy on 0-60 speeds.
Some buy on price etc.

But the performance is way down the selection criteria.

And we do have a killer app.

Its called the internet.

Unfortunately it is not limited by CPU speed.

And personally i wouldn't mind running my PC or laptop without a fan.

I think ergonomics and brand etc will be more and more important as performance increases flatten out.
