This was a good suggestion for me. I've done it, easily, with my favorites and desktop. I think I can do it with Outlook, though haven't done it yet. What i think may happen is that I get something on a zip disk but can't do anythng with that disk. When I try to open components of the Outlook file folder, which is what I will put on the zip, they are all in code.

tc, your step by step instructions suggestion seemed simple to follow, but not simple enough for me, when it got to the end. .

I've bought a new computer. It comes with WindowsME already installed. It'll be delivered early next week.

This computer needs replacing. I understand my cable connection will work much faster if I have a new computer. . (I was going to do it this summer anyway. Really, it isn't like throwing away your dishes because they got dirty, though it probably seems like it, after all this.)

I guess i'll never know what utility has been locking my disk. I uninstalled Cleansweep on a hunch, but it didn't help, so the hunch was wrong.

I really learned SO much from this. Thank you all so much.
