I can understand why Nokia and Ericy are sweating bullets right now.

GPRS does not work even if someone could make GPRS phones, WCDMA is not soup yet, the cooks are still stirring the pot with new features. Some 60 or more "improvements" in the last 1 1/2 months, see quintillion.co.jp
and look at what's new. Cast of hundreds? Add this, add that.

No one seems to want 3G features, carriers are near bankrupt on 3G spectrum due to some half baked auction scheme.

Isle of Man has 3, yes, three total phones, soon to be 4 if Sony can carve one out of silicon this year.

FOMA hit the software shoals and in process of "real soon now" PR and boat bailing. Maybe next year. But they are moving 4G up, what ever that may be, so don't lose hope.

Not looking good.
