Hi Peter,
I think broadband will drive growth. Right now Last Mile Access is Holding things up both at the residential and Metro level. But this means lots of STBs,cable modems, DSL modems, electronics of all kinds for video etc.

Mobile should drive growth. Lots of new Base Stations for 2.5G and 3G and new handsets, PDAs, handhelds of all kinds, Lazer as well as RF.

Optics and electronic/optics to light up the fiber layed out which is 97% dark should add a lot of growth.A mesh network versus ring should add lots of routers, hubs, switches etc.

Embedded devices for everything, Cars,Appliances, you name it for control, and communication should drive growth.

Health care/medical seems quite robust in electronics, servers etc

Servers, storage, fiberchannel, ethernet with all the attendent switches, and routers to provide all this info data and content should be high growth.

Networks are still just beginning stages. Will use all of wireless, fixed and mobile and fiber and need all the equipment associated.
.
Timing is the issue. 3G is delayed. Inventory needs to be cleared still. And last mile access is taking forever with lower capex. Lots of emerging telecoms though as you know will need continual capex. And lots of emerging equipment companies in telecom are using EMS.
So I don't want to sell and get off the trail and get lost. Although there are valleys like this one to cross. Lets see what FLEX and SCI have to say on Wednesday. CPQ business today OK but see Flat Q2. Dell seems to be winning the PC and lowend server/storage battle. But they all use EMS. Looks like more outsourcing ahead for CPQ and many others so Michael Marks and others could be right that this is business opportunity for EMS but once again it takes time to do the deal, design ramp etc. Regards,
Rich
