I challenge you to provide any factual basis from Nokia to support your speculation.

Hmmm...I wonder if I should have proposed a wager before I looked for the proof.

Found my notes from the second quarter CC....

- GPRS shipments should begin ramping during the first half of 2000....I kind of wish they had a firmer date on this.

Obviously, I miss wrote the notes and put 2000 instead of '01. However, since you dont seem to hold my memory in much esteem....

At the 41m 20s mark....Ollila EXPLICITLY states that volume deliviries of GPRS will begin in the first half.

Why did I remember it? If Ollila had stated the second half, I would have sold my Nokia stock. At the time, GPRS handsets were expected by the fourth quarter, I wouldnt have taken the chance on Nokia being 9-12 months behind the competition. I've been wondering why my memory didnt seem to match Nokia's rhetoric....

Like I've said before....Nokia is a damn well run company. They managed to change their schedule slickly enough that noone noticed.
