Verizon Chooses AES NewEnergy for Third Time

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 2001--AES NewEnergy has been awarded an extended contract to supply retail electricity service to Verizon.
Under this contract, AES NewEnergy will provide service to more than 200 accounts representing more than 75 MW of peak electrical load. Verizon has been served by AES NewEnergy since Con Edison's Retail Choice Program began three years ago and has elected to remain with AES NewEnergy as their retail electricity provider.
