Hi Bhag, If I am correct, Skystone's big product is a part that competes with the Suni-Lite from PMC, except it has a superb addition to it called an HDLC controller. Basically it allows you to run non-ATM protocol over Sonet frequency lines. ATM comes with a bunch of baggage at the front end and also is limited to the size of data you can send without sending a new header. PPP over Sonet (which I believe Skystone's product does) allows you to squeeze more real bandwidth out of a private Sonet line (directly connected Cisco box to Cisco box). This is a new kind of chip in the market and I don't believe TXCC has one that does this. If this purchase will hurt anyone at Cisco it will be PMC and not TXCC. Neal
