RE:"Thus there could be a redemption notice on 5/15/01 if the stock closed above 24.05 on 20 of 30 trading days ending 5/8/01. Those 30 trading days encompass the period 3/27 through 5/8. If G represents > 24.05 and L represents <=24.05, and a space represents a weekend, then we have the following:
Starting Tues. 3/27: GGGG GLLLL LLLG LLGGG G???? ????? ??
"

There is a contradiction between your scenario and the one stated in Harvey Allen post. According to convertbond.com if today is a "G" day it will be the 14th one and only 6 more will be needed.

On last Friday night the status was:

<Provisional Call Date: 5/15/2001
Issue Name: Advanced Micro Devices 6.00% due 5/15/05
Provisional Call Trigger: $24.05
Closing Stock Price 4/20/01:$29.00
Percentage Above The Trigger: 20.6%
Number Of Days Above The Trigger: 12>
