I think the tech boom was funded in part by the BOZO MBA's who had to do something so they spent money on capital expenditures.
(when times were great)
They overbought the daylights out of stuff. NOw they have it warehoused.
(they had to justify their job)
Now they have pentium 500's (128 RAM) running windows 98 that can be replaced at a fraction of what they paid for it.
No big incentive to upgrade to win 2000 Professional. Security sucks.
No real reason to put in a Linux system with Freeware. they already spent a fortune buying that expensive (ORACLE)software.
They already blew their budgets hiring those programers for 150 K a year and now all those guys are out of work.

Sure, What can we buy now. Everybody out of work. (WE GOTTA' JUSTIFY OUR JOB) Somebody has to lead us onward and upward. LETS GO SHOPPING.
