Enterprise-Scale Customer and Employee Loyalty Offerings to Augment divine's Enterprise Interaction Management Suite
CHICAGO, April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- divine, inc., (Nasdaq: DVIN - news), announced today that it has acquired the balance of the equity ownership of OpinionWare ( www.opinionware.com ), a software company transforming the way businesses build loyalty by engaging customers, employees and online communities with meaningful dialogue.

OpinionWare, which previously was majority-owned by divine, provides an important collaboration and opinion-gathering component to divine's enterprise interaction management solution. divine provides Web-based software solutions, world-class services and managed applications to support the technology infrastructure, communication, collaboration and knowledge management needs of the global enterprise. OpinionWare's software suite enables businesses to deploy large-scale dialogue management capabilities that are closely linked with customer relationship management, customer support and human resources applications.

``The challenge for today's enterprise is harnessing the wealth of internal and external information, and providing employees, partners and customers the tools to collaborate around that information,'' said divine Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrew ``Flip'' Filipowski. ``Information takes many forms, and being able to distill the thoughts and ideas of a business' key stakeholders into actionable results, as OpinionWare has done for many Fortune 500 companies, is a key component of our strategy and complements other forms of collaboration divine has to offer.''

divine is integrating OpinionWare's best-of-breed, enterprise-strength collaboration suite into its enterprise interaction management technology offerings, which also include a comprehensive enterprise portal, enterprise-wide messaging, new media and document management products. This acquisition also furthers divine's previously announced plan to acquire and roll up companies that support its Web-based software and services strategy.

``From the beginning, OpinionWare set out to deliver enterprise-scale solutions to meet the needs of large enterprises, and we are proud to have been able to provide solutions to help them engage their customers, employees and partners,'' said OpinionWare President and Chief Executive Officer Ted Collins. ``Backed by divine's deep resources and a range of complementary products and services, we will expand our current offerings to continue to provide current and future customers the ability to create meaningful dialogue with their constituents.''

As part of the acquisition, OpinionWare management, development team and technical support will join divine. Several OpinionWare executives, including Collins, Chief Technology Officer Phil Shevrin, Chief Financial Officer Helen Otto Yotter, Vice President of Marketing Jeff Schultz, and Vice President of Sales Kevin McDonagh will assume roles in divine's management team.
