Rich1, Death has been so close to me lately....Mrs. McKie went to a funeral yesterday for her sister's best friend who died of lung cancer last Thursday. She was 42 and had a 3 year old daughter. JXN has a Nanny two days a week who has become part of the family. Her cousin died three weeks ago of complications from AIDS. This is a girl who was 28 years old and had two boyfriends in her life and never used drugs. She did have a couple of operations too...but nobody will ever know how she got it. Because M (our Nanny) speaks english as a second language, she had me come to the hospital with her to help her understand what was going on. She didn't know that her cousin had AIDS and was going to die. I got to tell her. The reason that I bring these up is that these were tragic deaths that didn't need to happen. And the thought that my son or my wife could be killed by someone who is drinking and driving horrifies me. And it is something that is preventable.
