Avanex (AVNX) 14.93 -0.87: -- Update -- In addition to guiding FY01 revenues sharply lower to $110-115 mln from $145 mln consensus, company also writes off a substantial $21.6 mln in inventories due to "substantial and unexpected drop in customer demand." Abgenix (ABGX) 29.05 -1.90: Reports Q1 loss of $0.09 a share, $0.04 better than the First Call consensus of ($0.13). Revenues increased to $14.5 mln from $6.3 mln for the same period in 2000. THQ Inc (THQI) 38.52 +0.64: Reports Q1 net of $0.04 a share, a penny better than consensus, vs yr-ago EPS of $0.18; company continues to anticipate net earnings in the range of $0.12-$0.14 (mean $0.14) for the June qtr and full yr EPS of $1.35-$1.45 (mean $1.43).
