eMotion and Ampex Data Systems Integration Completes Media Life Cycle; Companies Unite to Take Digital Media Management from Creation to Air
VIENNA, Va., and REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- eMotion, Inc., the global leader in digital media management (DMM) solutions, today announced that it has formed a strategic relationship with Ampex Data Systems, a leading technology company for the acquisition, storage and processing of visual information, to integrate their technologies, saving customers time and money on managing their digital assets.

eMotion will integrate its DMM software solution eMotion MediaPartner(TM) 4.0 with Ampex Data System's DST(R) video server archive systems, allowing users to manage digital media files from the time they are created all the way through to the play to air environment. Ampex Data Systems has a long history of innovation in the field of electronic imaging. Currently, high-capacity DST storage systems are enabling broadcasters to migrate their existing videotape libraries to the distinct advantages of digital storage.

"Broadcasters and video production companies making the transition to file-based electronic media storage must consider the archive requirements for near-line storage of their facility's visual assets," said Michael Cooper, president of Ampex Data Systems. "To meet these needs, we are pleased that eMotion has integrated their digital media management application to enrich the value of content stored on our DST archive systems."

eMotion MediaPartner 4.0 powers the full lifecycle of digital media from content collaboration, deep storage, search and retrieval using eMotion's patented natural language search and the ability to effectively move band- width intensive media over the web. The software is 100% web-based and is "out-of-the-box", which means customers are up and running in less than a day. The solution can be implemented via a license or through eMotion's ASP services.

"eMotion is proud to once again deliver a customized solution that will add value to our broadcast and entertainment customers," said Bob Griffin, president and CEO of eMotion, Inc. "The combined benefits of these two industry leaders will set a new standard in the management of digital media".
