The management have told assembly staff they would be reduced by 50%...in other words to 200 people from a projected 500 just 2 months ago...I think things not as rosy as today's market suggests.
PS: even though the management told the staff on at least two different occasions, when the local media went to confirm, management denied.

4/24/00 Update: The local news announced 170 workers bought out or laid off indefinitely today. But wait there's more. The reporter discovered another previously unknown assembly site in the area. The employees there were not part of the forementioned story, but indicated there were layoffs coming at this location also. All the bad news is not out yet.

Seems to me lots of jobs moving to China when things turn around, from comments made by JSDU.
