it would be a dead money parking place. INTC is not trying to diversify just because they can, they know that the PC industry is a commodity one and that they are producing CPU's that far outstrip computing needs. There hasn't been a killer app in years and it's going to take much too long for the next sea change, broadband for the masses, to make a difference in processors needs anytime soon.
