From Briefing.com...Capex Trends : Not surprising to see telecom equip downgrades today given capex reductions seen this week; SBC (SBC), Qwest (Q) and Verizon (VZ) have all reduced capex plans this week, with the VZ $1 bln reduction announced yesterday afternoon being the most painful; the company said that roughly 1/4 of the reduction was the result of lower prices for telecom gear, citing more favorable conditions for buyers of equipment. Bottom line: pricing pressures are emerging in the telecom equip sector.
