Our septic system is older than that regulation. In fact I have never heard of such a thing. In newer construction I have seen these pipes sticking out of the ground but it seems for each system there are numerous pipes. I thought they were for venting? (total novice here). I have always been under the impression that chemicals were a no no. In a septic system, isn't the most desirable condition an organic one? We aren't required to put anything into it. You mustn't forget we are talking about the wild west here. In Idaho they are still letting you put a system in anywhere you want next to waterways. Washington has a lot more liberals so the regulations are stricter.

Who originally dug your ditch? Corps of Engineers? M
