"AMD has a plenty of capacity in Austin, and they still can't supply enough f***ing chipsets?"

This is likely more by design than anything else. As far as I know, AMD uses TMSC to fab their chipsets. The 760 chipset south bridge is not particularly optimal, it doesn't have some peripherals like a floppy controller or serial ports (IIRC) and AMD only contracted for minimal amounts, I guess they did not want to be in the position of waiting for VIA again. There are some signs that is changing, though. Apparently they are working on an integrated north/south bridge in Dresden and then there are those LDT chips that they are working on. It will be interesting to see what next year is like.
