(TSMC&#133 the MC is an acronym for Manufacturing Company).

Apparently they are working on an integrated north/south bridge in Dresden and then there are those LDT chips that they are working on.

I'm not sure what's going on in that respect, but there is a new South Bridge chip on the way (part of the AMD-760MP chipset). The 760 chipset uses the 766 South Bridge chip, although most boards listing "AMD760 chipset" actually only use the AMD761 North Bridge.

(AMD doesn't refer to them as North and South Bridges, but System Controller and Peripheral Bus Controller, respectively).
