Hmm ... it seems that Cisco is shutting down its PixStream operations in Waterloo, Ont. 320 people in total. A friend just told me that most employees except a small group of caretakers were laid off today. The caretakers are just there to wind things down. Cisco announced the buyout of Pixstream last summer (a small deal by Cisco standards ... only a couple of hundred million) but the deal did not close until Dec. Now they are throwing in the towel after less than 6 months. Can anyone say ... goodwill write downs batman? So much for the acquisition success story... Bill
