Since I view the Bible as a book containing considerable wisdom (and some non-wisdom) but not written to hang together, I don't try to reconcile various parts.

I don't think the bible contains any wisdon that was not stolen and appropriated from others, but it does contain 3 or 4 pages that I can tolerate without puking.

I have often heard people profess a love of the wisdom in the bible; but when pressed, they usually are unable to come up with more than a few verses--and these are often contradictory to other verses in the bible. I can think of very few books which carry less kindness, goodness, and wisdom than the bible--but there are probably some.
