Ramsey Lewis! Cast Your Fate to the Wind!!!
I still play that on the piano. I played it in the Freshman talent show at U of R in 1966. It was part of a medley I put together- it started with Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor and then went into Cast Your Fate and then into Flight of the Bumblebee.
I I I thought it was awesome.
The judges didn't.
They liked Martha Brandt better. Martha was a really interesting person; she saw auras and was very mystical, and married Vergil Goode who is a state representative now, only they are divorced.
I saw him at Washington and Lee once.
Ramsey Lewis, not Vergil.

I saw the Supremes too!
And Peter,Paul, and Mary four times.
And Judy Collins was the most memorable concert of all at UNC.
Except for maybe John Denver at UVa.
And Richie Havens at a little coffee house in DC.

Oh, and once I saw the real Von Trapp Family Singers! Eat your heart out!
