Well, since I bought DELL in 1997, that is interesting - but it's ancient history. Let's look at DELL's butt-kicking performance more recently -
2 years - CPQ down about 8%, DELL down about 40%. Looks like DELL's butt got pretty seriously kicked in that time frame...

Still, 2 years is a long time in this business. Maybe we should just go back 1 year - oops, CPQ down 30%, DELL down 50%. DELL's butt gets kicked again.

Well, the real action just happened in the last few months. Collapse of the economy, CPQ warns, that ought to be more important to investing today. Lets look at the last 3 months.

Gosh, DELL STILL gets its butt kicked!!! CPQ down 5%, DELL down almost 10%.

So tell me, do we really think that the recent performance is less important than what happened 5 years ago? I don't think so, but follow your heart...
