in tracking the elusive backweb, i found a PTM.BackWeb.dll file on my win98se in C:\Program Files\Aveo\Attune
the Aveo folder is also in my windows start menu folder, and contains the program called Attune. attune has a folder in it called bin. bin has a bunch of files, of which ptm.backweb.dll is one.
Attune has a readme.txt file that contains uninstall instructions... namely,
"To remove Attune:
1. On your screen, click the Start button on the taskbar. 2. Point to Settings, then choose Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 4. In the list, select Attune, and then click the Add/Remove button. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions."
from what i can see, this is a worthless program (personal opinion here). i have never used it, and figure it must be some dell preloaded crap. whether it's dell or not, it still looks like junk. bells and whistles and no substance. i'd love for someone to show me i'm wrong, but you be your own judge.
so it looks to me like backweb.dll is residing in attune. you can remove attune, OR just take it out of the startup folder. then see if your windoctor backweb registry key errors stop.
hope this helps
:)
