Bottle Rocket Nets Consulting Agreement with 3DO; Will Provide Design and Consulting Services For Game Developer

NEW YORK, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Bottle Rocket, a subsidiary of digital media company ACTV, Inc. (Nasdaq: IATV - news), today announced a consulting agreement with The 3DO Company, a leading supplier of interactive games for personal computers, the Internet and advanced interactive systems. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bottle Rocket will help 3DO explore new Internet initiatives for its interactive entertainment business. In its development work, Bottle Rocket will seek to maximize 3DO's patented technology for mapping player attributes within interactive games. The 3DO technology allows players to develop characters whose attributes can be shared among different online gaming platforms, products and services.

Bottle Rocket's initial task is to provide 3DO with analysis and design for a transactional system to work across multiple platforms. The system represents 3DO's first attempt to utilize its player-mapping patent in a specific application.

``Bottle Rocket is an experienced leader in Internet game design and will be a good partner for 3DO,'' said Trip Hawkins, Chairman and CEO of The 3DO Company. ``We're excited to be moving ahead with our patented Internet business plan.''

``We are tremendously excited by our initial opportunity to work with 3DO,'' said Greg Easley, CEO, Bottle Rocket. ``We expect the synergies between 3DO's unique interactive content and Bottle Rocket's online gaming expertise will lead to future development opportunities as 3DO expands its business into new broadband platforms.''
