what os, how old is it, what system maintenance, if any, do you perform, what kind of web connection?
W98, 4 years old, I have ran system file checker, registery checker, version conflict manager, scandisk, cleaned my start up to system trey, macfee, and internet answering machine only, defraged my hard drive, cleaned up temp files. web connection 28800.
if you tell us when the problem occurs, that would help. what tasks are you performing when you notice that it "runs more chopped up than ever"? and does that mean slower? intermittent problems? hanging? rebooting? closing an application to make it run?
If I play music and someone sends a chat from icq the music is all chopped up (never used to be) yes slower my curser moves very slow and getting any thing to function. I have to doulble click twice most the time now.
what brand printer? did it used to work, then quit? did it only work once?
HP deskjet610cl yes it worked fine and then it doesnt, I reloaded drivers and it worked until I rebooted then it doesnt.
how did you rid your system of it? is your puter virus-free at this time? what antivirus program are you running?
I went into the news group and found the cure, they told me to find and delete various sytem files from a list provided, and I found 2 of them and deleted them, I reinstalled my KERNEL32.DLL. MaCafee. Jeff |
