I think it is going too far to claim that Christianity originates there. There are analogies to the avatars of Vishnu, or the Bodhisattvas, but internally it is a different story, and, in any case...

I like the "in any case " part.

Without trying to play "God" , I think the
motives for emphasizing direct links to the Divine
and teaching the exclusivity of one's beliefs
over others is inspired by something other
than the "divine ".

We'll have to let the history of the world write
itself out from here . But Neo , there is an
overwhelming curiosity in the eastern mysticism
beginning to draw more and more eyes in the US again
especially in the young . I think they will instinctively
"divine" on their own what is truth about our common history.

There is one very great problem with religions that
lack the true "living" masters to teach the internals.
Scripture and preaching goes only so far , and
in actuality often does little but create only
superficiality.

The "Truth" question ?

It is found anywhere
you wish to look , but rarely found ,
written in stone on someone
else's sacred grounds ...(and sometimes
it is found there too)

As for origins of faith and belief in spiritual
ascending , the similarities between what
generated out from India and Christianity
are too numerous too mention . It is on the deepest
spiritual levels , not as some like to think
that in "Christian" countries we have wealth
,power, knowledge, democracy, the finer
things of life etc....they have those
same things as well
(India one of the world's largest Democracys)

there is that superficiality rising again in the guise
of being " the faithful " and the "chosen few".

....I think we know where those convenient
interpretations came from , don't we ?
An ardent Priesthood / Ruler state enterprise
maybe , vying for souls ?
