Employment Costs Rise, Loosen Job Market
By Joanne Morrison

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The number of Americans lining up for first-time unemployment benefits jumped last week to the highest level in five years while employment costs climbed in the first quarter, the government said on Thursday.

Not to sure what this means is suppose to mean. IF you have a job you are going to get a raise? If you can't get a raise you are going to go on unemployment?

The four-week moving average -- considered a more reliable barometer of employment conditions because it irons out weekly fluctuations -- rose to 394,500, the highest level in 8-1/2 years and the fourth straight weekly gain.

I suppose this means we are somewhere around ninety three figure wise. Which doesn't make sense either as the population has increased since then.

I suppose it could mean if you are employed you are going to ask for a raise as you working much harder to compensate for those in your company who were just laid off.

It also could mean people will be buying less. No time to spend on the spending and nothing to spend on the other.
