Amazingly enough,
and I hesitate to admit this.....

In about 1991 I was at New Smyrna Beach on vacation. While bodysurfing, the lifeguards began telling everyone to get out of the water because a large shark had been sighted near the shore. We waited about half an hour, and when we got the all's clear, went right back in the water.

The waves were gigantic, providing a ride that was just too good to pass up.
