Hi Mephisto, Today I got an email from my relative in Chazy. She told me that A Georgia Pacific plant dumped something into the lake that caused a black sludge along the shoreline near Cumberland Head which is where the ferry landing is located. Something else was dumped into the lake near Plattsburg which caused the PCB levels to rise. She didn't know the cause but I can tell you that an Air Force base was located there.....may or may not have something to do with the contamination. The base closed a few years ago in the major cut backs that occurred. I am amazed at this not so Supreme COurt and their so-called support of less big gov't. I cannot believe that the police now have to have less reason to arrest and jail you. Our rights are definitely being eroded by this right wing court. Can you imagine how bad it will get if Bush appoints more justices with this kind of law interpretation!!! As an exsmoker I support stiff laws against the tobacco companies. No other companies have a free hand with a highly addictive drug like nicotine. One of the reasons it's so hard to stop is that one can smoke almost anywhere so it becomes a way of life. Pat
