Sonny ---Good afternoon ----Bush first 100 days :

1)character,morals ---A
2)foreign policy --A ---handling the plane issue and staying out of the Mideast until they are ready to talk
3)Energy policy ----?
4)budget policy ----still too early ---needs to keep the increase at 4%
5)tax policy ----very poor so far

OVERALL C+

The major differences I have on his tax policy is it is geared way too much to the rich . I actually see lowering the tax rates for everyone who pays taxes ---no brainer . But the package is way to too tilted to the rich ( 43 %) ---believed that they should dropped the estate tax issue since this eliminates 20 % of the tax refund . Take this money if they have to give it back ( instead of paying off the national debt ) and give some relief in capital gains or increase contributions to 401k and IRAS . Doing away with the estate taxes creates a new aristocracy in the United States .

The lack of an energy policy is really coming home to roost . We need to build nuclear plants ,gas plants and coal plants + infrastructure to transmit this power around the country . Nuclear power ( except for the waste ) is the way to go ( .5 cents a kw to generate ---two cents to transport to where needed ) . Japan and France electrical needs are supplied almost 100 % by nuclear .
The second part is to get on with drilling for oil and natural gas in the United States . We can drill safe and clean not withstanding environmental requirements . Their should be no place off limits . Their are 30 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in Alaska and 23 trillion in the overthrust belt in Wyoming that have been put off limits due to the environmental issues set up as roadblocks . OPEC needs to be told that we will not tolerate the rape and pillaging that is going in the marketplace . That we want a competitive market and not a cartel to do business with . If not then it is time to get on with alternative fuels such as hydrogen ---cannot believed that we can not bring this to market in two to three year time frame .
Boy are the refiners really putting gasoline prices too us ---telling the market we have 50 different types of gasoline to make and it is tough to manage ---maybe we ought to loan them a computer to keep track of the different type of products and where to shipped them . We both know this is another instance of the gas industry gouging since they are having to shipped less gas this year with the economy so weak . Bottom line is that BUSH needs to set a national energy policy that is not dependent upon other countries for our energy needs and we need to be realistic in what we can developed at home through exploration and conservation . This big tax hike the oil industry and cartel is exacting will not let the economy recover .
By the way the economy in no way is growing at 2 % ---If it is I want to sell my stock holding to AG at a fair price . Tell it too the thousands of high tech people across the whole technological spectrum who are losing their jobs . The effect of these people being out of work will be felt dramatically in the second and third qtrs

BEST WISHES
BILL
