New shareholder,
Yes, I'm still an employee and a stockholder. Likely to remain so since my options are now worth significant $$$. I work in the Mac development group which is a very small part, albeit profitable, of Symantec so I don't have a lot of insight to the company as a whole. I will say that the working environment is excellent and they treat their employees well. The company is moving more toward the enterprise software arena. Looking at the quarterly results from Wednesday, the enterprise business is increasing significantly as a percentage of revenue. The company continues to be profitable and has a relatively low PE for the industry. Barring a recession, I would expect the stock to return to the 80 range within the next year. JMO.
