There is a problem with measuring ethnic voting patterns using exit polls. I suspect, for instance that Bush did not lose the black vote 90% to 10% if one counts the emerging black middle class, which does not, for the most part, live in "black precincts". The same is true for the Hispanic, and other middle class groups.

It is the emergence of a working, taxpaying middle class that elevates an electorate above the socialist demagogues and other charlatans. What has been as great a crime against American blacks as slavery has been the liberal attempts to keep them mired in the broken family/poverty environment of the inner cities (the drug prohibition laws have been an equal contributor, BTW, but that's a different subject for later).

The good news is that such tactics can't last in the long run. The emerging black and Hispanic middle classes have the same interests in defending themselves from intrusive government and protecting their estates from confiscatory taxation as the emerging middle class groups of the past.

I believe there is a strong trend by these groups away from the liberal con game already. The question really is, when will the media begin to recognize and report it. Perhaps on election night 2002???
