Barry,

Don't expect an answer from the anti-Rambus crowd. It's very hard to change folks minds, once they have committed to an opinion.

(Despite Scumbria's protests) I'm starting to think that P4 with Rambus may be the best at price/performance, starting in the 4th quarter. I'm thinking that maybe Athlon may be getting long in the tooth in comparison to P4, a "spry" new architecture that has lot of rapid scale in it's future. I'm starting to think that Rambus has the lead in volume manufacturing, and that may lead to an on-going price advantage over DDR.

I'm wondering where Athlon will be, GM wise, as P4 scales quickly, and Intel continues it's aggressive price strategy. I wondering about the seemingly common benefits of P4 and Windows XP, and the marketing message that might send to the end user.

I know this is heresy, but I'm starting to wonder.

I'm wondering if I should sell my AMD stock.

John

PS I'm also wondering how many IAG profit dollars Intel will dump into the black hole of their comm and network divisions. Over $1Billion last quarter.
