End of week thought - I am astounded by the number of posts I read on SI from people who KNOW where the market is going, where gold is going, where the economy is going, all weeks and months and even years ahead.
This is a volatile, uncertain time, folks. Economic data is confusing and conflicting. Before April 15 everyone screamed "Market's gonna CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and it went through the roof. Since then the Naz has held up fine during earnings, thank you.
Moral of the story - if you think you KNOW what will happen the next 3-6 months, you are kidding yourself. Don't make big bets on market directions for now. Plenty of time to play market direction when it's clearer later.
If I were a grad student in psych I would do my thesis on the power of Internet chat boards to induce and reinforce self-delusion. Of course, that would lead me into the GURUs and a bunch of snooty lawsuits, so let's just say we all know who and what we are talking about here......including the gurus, but they would have to shatter their "Internet personas" if they admitted it.
