Yes, this is what the leader is all about. Educate the customers to make them want their new products.

Intel has spend lot of dollars in advertising and promoting to create the brand name for the Pentium in making the Pentium the processor of choice for the PC.

Again, putting presure on the competition is the name of the game in the free market system. Intel know that if they can make the customers want to buy the Pentium then AMD will be in trouble. And Intel is right.
