There could have been an early agreement. I heard about IBM/AMD SOI cooperation as early as October, 1999.

The latest agreement could have been a change in scale of cooperation.


I doubt it. The .13um SOI process wasn't even defined by then. Had they designed it in a .18um process, why didn't they follow through with it? IBM is shipping .18um SOI now in their servers. This sounds like something relatively recent (last six months)
