George, Like most modern cities, traffic in Oxford is a very serious problem. When I lived there 30 years ago you could drive your car into downtown, but it was much easier and faster to take the bus. Parking in downtown Oxford now costs about $8 anytime of day or night. I think your image of England is rather far removed from reality. Scumbria
