MSFT customers don't care about that, or they wouldn't be MSFT customers.

2. Allow Microsoft to exploit cool business models based on Windows NT's flexible architecture

That's nice for MSFT. MSFT customers don't care about that though.

Your mileage may vary, but I don't predict a lot of people upgrading. XP will ship on new machines, but that doesn't add or subtract anything from their top or bottom line. This will be a non-event.
