But Microsoft officials hold that the XP software still will be delivered on schedule.

I remember seeing a presentation late last year on XP delivery for 2H01. I thought it was around September - October which would still work for a Christmas buying surge. This sounds like another short's attempt to bring a stock down, like the Andy Bryant rumor the other day. Speaking of which, I listened to all of his presentation except for his opening minute of two. Sounds like he didn't say anything about resigning, or it would have been all over the web and CNBC. John Fowler, no such words? Rumor mongers are low lifes.
