The size of the short interest also blew me away, especially considering that most of the long shares are held by institutions and there shares are normally not available for lending to shorts, at least retail shorts.

I agree that some professional big time shorts are betting heavy. Doesn't meant they are right, but I don't think they would place such a large bet unless they are convinced that they have all aces.

I was wondering, and don't really understand, how much of the short interest is due to shares just becoming optionable. I would think very little, as they just became optionable.
