up 300% and held till I was down 50%....help... with stock trades If I get up 2% I am out and out if I get down 5%. but with options it seems more complicated than that.....greed seems to kick in or fear of losing it all so I just hold eventually until the option expiration date and they I do lose it all with 100% loss????? options are killing me. does any one have a set of rules they follow when trading options like the 2%gain 5%loss???? how soon do you take your profit? when do you bail out with the loss? on average how many days do you hold an option contract? are the percentages different for in the money options vs "cheap long shot" options? how far out do you buy the options this month or next month? never buy close to the exp date ??? help !

thanx
