For what it's worth (not much)...my opinion is that your brother is right. I've read a lot of bi*chin in the trade press about MS Works.....most (all) of the pro's seem to prefer MS Office. MS Office 2000 Pro....I'm still on Office 97, so I can't give you a first hand opinion of the upgrade.

I'm sure that MS Office 2000 is much more comprehensive than Works....if all you're ever going to do is a little word processing, then it probably doesn't make a big difference.
