Layoff totals - unofficial number 673,478 since February 9 here - Message 15712793. Add another 5600 they tallied in the week since that post and you are around 679,000 in 2 1/2 months. That would roughly account for the unemployment rate slipping back to 4.4% now if that is the number we get. I still don't see how the world comes to an end with more than 129 million people at work in a very bad scenario.....
