Your options strategy is apparently on the right course.

Statistics has shown that, especially for individual investors, credit options (sell) rake in better performances than the debit ones (buy).

I also tend to lean in that direction. However, in contrast to a declining market, selling cc in a (unpredictably) rising market could be quite risky, in that you might readily lose your quality stock before its price potential is reached. Spread plays are thus preferable IMHO.
